Actuate the hatch switch located on the IP.

Did the hatch glass release?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the glass hatch actuator feed circuit at the actuator and ground.
  2. Actuate the hatch switch.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Test the ground circuit of the glass hatch actuator for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the glass hatch actuator feed circuit at the multifunction alarm module and ground.
  2. Actuate the hatch switch.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Test for continuity in the glass hatch acuator switch circuit between the multifunction alarm module and ground.

Did you measure continuity when the glass hatch switch is actuated?

Test the glass hatch actuator switch for continuity when the switch is pressed.

Does the switch have continuity when the switch is pressed?

Test the ground side of the glass hatch actuator switch for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the glass hatch actuator and courtesy switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
