The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The Vibe MU5 or MU4 automatic transmission has a cold shift schedule with some of it described below.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The TCC will not apply and the 4th gear upshift is delayed until the engine coolant temperature has reached at least 55°C (131°F). Do not attempt to repair this concern. This information can be found in the Road Test procedure in eSI for the model year Vibe in question.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
