    Object Number: 831215 Size: SH
  1. Apply a continuous bead of GM P/N 12346240 (Canadian P/N 10953493) or an equivalent to the timing chain cover mating surface.

    2. Object Number: 831218 Size: SH
  2. Apply GM P/N 12346240 or an equivalent to the cylinder block (1).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the timing chain cover.
  4. Secure the cover using the 19 bolts:
    5. • Tighten the timing chain cover bolts (1) to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).
    • Tighten the timing chain cover bolts (2) to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).
    • Tighten the timing chain cover bolts (3) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
    • Tighten the timing chain cover bolts (4) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
