Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 830850 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
  3. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
  4. Remove the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Remove the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  7. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (3) and the bolt (2).
  8. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide (1).

  9. Disconnect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).

    10. Object Number: 830850 Size: SH
  10. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
    11. • The upper bolt (3)
    • The lower bolt (6)
    • The front seat belt retractor (7)

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 830850 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the front seat belt retractor (7) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the upper bolt (3) and the lower bolt (6).

    2. Tighten

        • Tighten the front seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
        • Tighten the front seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  2. Connect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).

  3. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide (1). Secure with bolt (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the adjuster bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the front seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (3).
  5. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.

    8. Object Number: 830850 Size: SH
  8. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (5) to the front lower anchor.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the anchor bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  9. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
