Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1224561 Size: SH
  1. Remove the screws (3) and spacers (1) from the left and right sides of the rear bumper fascia extension (2).

    2. Object Number: 1224593 Size: SH
  2. Remove the lower screws and washers from the rear bumper fascia extension.
  3. Remove the rear bumper fascia extension and 2-way tape. Refer to Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1224693 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear bumper fascia extension screws (5), washers (4), and brackets (3) from rear fascia, if necessary.
  5. Remove the U-clips (2) from the rear fascia (1), if necessary.

    6. Object Number: 1224823 Size: SH
  6. Remove the nuts (2), bolts (5), washers (3), and brackets (4) from the rear fascia (1), if necessary.

    7. Object Number: 1225187 Size: SH
  7. Remove the U-clips from the left and right sides of the rear fascia, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1225187 Size: SH
  1. Install the U-clips to the left and right sides of the rear fascia, if removed.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1224823 Size: SH
  2. Install the brackets (4), bolts (5), washers (3), and nuts (2) to the rear fascia (1), if removed.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  3. Install the U-clips (2) to the rear fascia (1), if removed.
  4. Install the rear bumper fascia extension brackets (3) to the rear fascia (1), if removed.
  5. Install the screws (5) and washers (4) to the brackets (3), if removed.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Install 2-way tape to the rear fascia extension. Refer to Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement .
  7. Peel back 25.0 mm of the 2-way tape liner from each end.
  8. Position the rear fascia extension to the rear fascia and align to mounting holes.

    9. Object Number: 1224593 Size: SH
  9. Install the lower screws and washers to the rear bumper fascia extension.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the lower screws to  5N·m (44 lb in).


    Object Number: 1224561 Size: SH
  10. Install the spacers (1) and screws (3) to the left and right sides of the rear bumper fascia extension (2).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5N·m (22 lb in).

  11. Remove the 2-way tape liner from the rear bumper fascia extension, while pressing down for good adhesion.
