Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  4. Remove the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  6. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  7. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  8. Remove the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
  9. Remove the compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
  10. Remove the 4 front retaining bolts from the rear seat, and reposition the rear seat.

  12. Remove the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
  13. Remove the floor carpet retainers (2) from each door opening.

  15. Remove the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolt from each side of the vehicle.

  16. Object Number: 869076  Size: SH
  17. Remove the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor panel carpet (6).
  18. Remove the footrest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement .
  19. Remove the floor mats from the vehicle, if equipped.
  20. Remove the floor panel carpet (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the floor panel carpet (6) to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the carpet under the body side lower rear garnish moldings.
  3. Install the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement .
  4. Install the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor carpet (6).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install each of the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolts to the floor.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb in).

  8. Install the floor carpet retainers (2) to each door opening.
  9. Install the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
  10. Reposition the rear seat assembly and install the 4 front retaining bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  12. Install the compact disc player, if removed. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Install the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
  14. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  15. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  16. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  17. Install the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  18. Install all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  19. Install the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  20. Install the floor mats, if equipped.
  21. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
