Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
in SIR.
- Remove the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to
Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to
Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to
Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the front floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the rear floor console. Refer to
Rear Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the front seats. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
in Seats.
- Remove the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to
AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement
in Power
Outlets.
- Remove the compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to
CD Player Replacement
in Entertainment.
- Remove the 4 front retaining bolts from the rear seat, and reposition
the rear seat.
- Remove the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the
floor panel carpet (6).
- Remove the floor carpet retainers (2) from each door opening.
- Remove the front seat belt (1) lower
anchor bolt from each side of the vehicle.
- Remove the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the
floor panel carpet (6).
- Remove the footrest. Refer to
Foot Rest Replacement
.
- Remove the floor mats from the vehicle, if equipped.
- Remove the floor panel carpet (6) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the floor panel carpet (6) to the vehicle.
- Reposition the carpet under the body side lower rear garnish moldings.
- Install the foot rest. Refer to
Foot Rest Replacement
.
- Install the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear
of the floor carpet (6).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install each of the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolts to the floor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb in).
- Install the floor carpet retainers (2) to each door opening.
- Install the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front
of the floor panel carpet (6).
- Reposition the rear seat assembly and install the 4 front retaining
bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Install the compact disc player, if removed. Refer to
CD Player Replacement
in Entertainment.
- Install the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to
AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement
in Power
Outlets.
- Install the front seats. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
in Seats.
- Install the rear floor console. Refer to
Rear Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the front floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and
Console.
- Install the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to
Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to
Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Install the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to
Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the floor mats, if equipped.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
in SIR.
