Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the LH front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .

  2. Object Number: 839796  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt (1) and the upper deceleration sensor bracket (2).
  4. Disconnect the deceleration sensor electrical connector.

  5. Object Number: 839809  Size: SH
  6. Remove the two bolts (1) that retain the deceleration sensor (2).
  7. Remove the deceleration sensor (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 839809  Size: SH
  1. Install the deceleration sensor (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the two bolts (1) that retain the deceleration sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the two deceleration sensor bolts to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the deceleration sensor electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 839796  Size: SH
  7. Install the upper deceleration sensor bracket (2) and the bolt (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the upper deceleration sensor bolt to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

  9. Install the LH front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
