Removal Procedure

  1. Clean the outside of the reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 819768  Size: SH
  3. Remove the reservoir cap (2).
  4. Use a siphon in order to remove the fluid from the reservoir.
  5. Place a drain pan below the vehicle in order to catch the draining fluid.
  6. Loosen the reservoir inlet hose clamp at the reservoir.
  7. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Remove the reservoir inlet hose from the reservoir.
  9. Loosen the reservoir outlet hose clamp at the reservoir.
  10. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
  11. Remove the reservoir from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the reservoir to the bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the reservoir outlet hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir.
  4. Install the reservoir inlet hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir.
  5. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Add fluid to the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  7. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

  9. Object Number: 819768  Size: SH
  10. Install the reservoir cap (2).
