Removal Procedure

  1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 834073  Size: SH
  3. Remove the pressure switch (3) from the receiver (6). Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement .
  4. Remove the bolt (4) and liquid tube from the receiver.
  5. Remove the bolt (5) and tube from the condenser.
  6. Remove the 2 screws (7) from the receiver.
  7. Remove the receiver from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Add 40 ml (1.3 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system when installing a new condenser dryer.

  1. Position the receiver into the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 834073  Size: SH
  3. Install the receiver (6) to the condenser. Install the 2 screws (7).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the tube to the condenser. Secure with the bolt (5).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (5) to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  7. Install the liquid tube to the receiver. Secure with the bolt (4).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (4) to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  9. Install the pressure switch (3) to the receiver. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement .
  10. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  11. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing .
