Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Transmission 🢒 Automatic Transmission - MVD 5 Speed 🢒 Vehicle Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  3. Remove the engine cover assembly. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    5. Object Number: 2012927 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the transmission wire connector, park/neutral position switch connector (2) and wire harness clamps.
  6. Remove the bolt and transmission oil level indicator tube sub-assembly.
  7. Remove the O-ring from the transmission oil level indicator tube sub-assembly.

    8. Object Number: 2012931 Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
  9. Remove the bolt (2) and speed sensor.
  10. Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor.

    11. Object Number: 2011915 Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the speed sensor connector (1).
  12. Remove the bolt and speed sensor.
  13. Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2011915 Size: SH
  1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS and install it to the speed sensor.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the speed sensor with the bolt and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  3. Connect the speed sensor connector (1).
  4. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS and install it to the speed sensor.

    5. Object Number: 2012931 Size: SH
  5. Install the speed sensor with the bolt (2) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  6. Connect the speed sensor connector.
  7. Apply ATF WS to a new O-ring, and install it to the transmission oil level indicator tube assembly.

    8. Object Number: 2012927 Size: SH
  8. Install the transmission oil level indicator tube sub-assembly to the automatic transaxle with the bolt and tighten to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
  9. Connect the transmission wire connector, park/neutral position switch connector (2) and wire harness clamps.
  10. Install the transmission oil level indicator sub-assembly to the transmission oil level indicator tube sub-assembly.
  11. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  12. Install the engine cover assembly. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  13. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  14. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
