Circuit Description

These DTCs do not indicate a malfunction. The power steering control module outputs these DTCs when it determines that the rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration are incomplete.

DTC Descriptors

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

    • DTC C1516 Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete
    • DTC C1526 Rotation Angle Sensor Initialization Incomplete

Conditions for Running the DTC

This DTC shall run when key is inserted into key cylinder.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

C1516

The torque sensor zero point calibration is incomplete due to the steering wheel being touched during calibration.

C1526

The rotation angle sensor value initialization is incomplete due to the steering wheel being touched during initialization.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • Power assist stops.
    • The P/S warning indicator illuminates.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC will clear when conditions for setting the DTC have been repaired.
