The PCM performs continuous self checks of all internal circuits. The PCM provides ignition positive voltage to the throttle actuator control (TAC) motor on circuit 1. DTC P0657 sets when the powertrain control module (PCM) has determined that the control module has an internal fault in the ignition voltage supply circuit 1.
• | The ignition is ON. |
• | DTC P0657 runs continuously once the above condition is met. |
DTC P0657 sets when the internal voltage of the TAC motor ignition supply circuit is incorrect.
DTC P0657 is a type A DTC.
DTC P0657 is a type A DTC.
Check the PCM for water contamination. Water entering the PCM can cause damage and corrosion to the circuit boards and to internal components. Repair the source of the water entry before the installation of a replacement PCM.
A DTC P0657 can set if an incorrect PCM is installed in the vehicle. Install the correct PCM according to the vehicle and/or the engine type and equipment options.

Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify DTC P0657 does not set this ignition cycle.
⇒ | If DTC P0657 is set, replace the PCM. |
