Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement AWD
Removal Procedure
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any power steering fluid.
- Remove the bolt (2) from the power steering gear outlet hose (3).
- Loosen the clamp that retains the power steering cooling pipe to the gear outlet hose.
Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.
- Remove the gear outlet hose from the cooling pipe.
- Remove the pipe fitting (4) and the gear outlet hose from the steering gear (5).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the pipe fitting (4) and the gear outlet hose (3) to the steering gear (5).
Tighten
Tighten the pipe fitting to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
- Install the end of the gear outlet hose (1) to the cooling pipe.
- Install the hose clamp in order to retain the hose to the pipe.
- Install the bolt (2) in order to retain the hose to the steering gear.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N·m (69.04 lb in).

- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to
