Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 828867  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) to the idle air control (IAC) valve (1).
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  3. Object Number: 828869  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the two coolant hoses (2) to the IAC valve.
  5. Remove the fasteners retaining the IAC valve (3).
  6. Remove the IAC valve (4) from the throttle body (1).
  7. Remove any remaining IAC valve gasket (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 828869  Size: SH
  1. Install a new IAC valve gasket (4).
  2. Install the IAC valve (3) to the throttle body.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fasteners that retain the IAC valve.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 3.7 N·m (33 lb in).

  6. Connect the two coolant hoses (2) to the IAC valve.

  8. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the IAC valve (1).
  9. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
