Evaporative Emission System Vacuum Leak Pump Replacement FWD

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 1459177  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the EVAP filter line from the inlet port (4) of the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) by pinching both sides of the hose connector fitting.
  4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum leak pump.
  5. Remove the 3 bolts and the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) from the canister (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) to the EVAP canister (3) and secure with 3 bolts.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the pump bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Connect the vacuum hose to the small port of the EVAP leak pump.
  6. Connect the EVAP filter line to the inlet port (4) of the vacuum leak pump (2).
  7. Install the EVAP canister to the vehicle. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .
