Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve and the EVAP control system for carbon particle contamination before replacing the EVAP canister vent solenoid.

  2. Object Number: 832000 Size: SH
  3. Install the EVAP canister vent valve (3) to the air cleaner housing with the one fastener (2).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the EVAP canister vent valve fastener (2).
  6. Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 8.8 N·m (77 lb in).

  7. Connect the one vent hose (4) to the EVAP canister vent valve (3) and the air cleaner housing.
  8. Connect the other vent hose (4) to the EVAP canister vent valve (3).
  9. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the vent valve.
