Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 240870  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
  2. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  3. • The bolt
    • The bracket with the horn (2) attached

    Object Number: 242288  Size: SH
  4. Remove the following components from the bracket (1), if necessary:
  5. • The nut (2)
    • The horn (3)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 242288  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the horn (3) to the bracket (1), if removed. Secure the horn with the nut (2).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the horn retaining nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the horn (2) and bracket to the vehicle. Secure the bracket with the bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the horn bracket mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the horn electrical connector.
