Removal Procedure
- Remove the wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
in Wipers and Washers.
- Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector (1).
- Remove the 2 wiper motor assembly bolts (2).
- Remove the wiper motor assembly (3) from the engine compartment.
- Remove the wiper transmission. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement
in Wipers and Washers.
Installation Procedure
- Position the wiper motor assembly (3) to the cowl.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the wiper motor transmission. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement
in Wipers and Washers.
- Install the 2 wiper motor assembly bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5.5 N·m (48 lb in).
- Connect the wiper motor electrical connector (1).
- Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
in Wipers and Washers.
