Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Observe the cruise indicator located in the instrument cluster.

Is the cruise indicator ON?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the cruise control switch.
3. Turn ON the ignition with, the engine OFF.

Is the cruise indicator ON?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground condition in the cruise indicator control circuits between the cruise indicator and the powertrain control module (PCM), and between the cruise control switch and the PCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 6

Replace the cruise control switch. Refer to Cruise Control Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
