Removal Procedure
- Remove the headrest, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Seat Head Restraint Replacement
.
- Fold the rear seat back cushion to the down position.
- Remove the 2 plastic hinge covers (1) from the back seat back cushion cover.
- Remove the rear seat back trim panel. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Cushion Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the center rear seat belt retractor, if necessary. Refer to
Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Center Rear
.
- Remove the hinge bolts (2) from the rear seat back cushion (3).
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
• | The 2 seat back pivot support bolts |
• | The rear seat back cushion (3) |
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear seat back cushion (3) to the vehicle. Secure the rear seat back cushion with the 2 bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the seat back cushion bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Install the outer pivot support bolts to the rear seat back cushion (3).
Tighten
Tighten the outer pivot support bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Install the center rear seat belt retractor, if removed. Refer to
Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Center Rear
.
- Install the rear seat back trim panel. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Cushion Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the 2 plastic hinge covers (1) to the back of the seat back cushion cover.
- Return the seat back to the upright position.
- Install headrest, if removed. Refer to
Rear Seat Head Restraint Replacement
