Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement AWD

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear knuckle. Refer to Knuckle Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 829430  Size: SH
  3. Remove the dust deflector (2).

  4. Object Number: 829431  Size: SH
  5. Remove the 4 bolts (2,3,4,5).
  6. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 829431  Size: SH
  1. Install the wheel bearing and hub assembly and the 4 bolts (2,3,4,5).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 56 N·m (41.3 lb ft).

  3. Use a hydraulic press in order to install a NEW dust deflector.
  4. Install the rear knuckle. Refer to Knuckle Replacement .

Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement FWD

Removal Procedure

  1. If the vehicle has rear drum brakes, remove the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  2. If the vehicle has rear disc brakes, remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .

  3. If the vehicle has ABS, disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector (3). Position the connector to the side.
  4. Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 4, 5).
  5. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the wheel bearing and hub assembly and the 4 bolts (1, 2, 4, 5).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 61 N·m (45.0 lb ft).

  3. If the vehicle has ABS, connect the rear wheel speed sensor connector (3).
  4. If the vehicle has rear drum brakes, install the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  5. If the vehicle has rear disc brakes, install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .

  6. If the vehicle has ABS, perform the vehicle system check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
