Removal Procedure

  1. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical-1.8L (LV6).
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the left hand splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the right hand splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Right Side in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the 2 bolts from the front transaxle mount.
  6. Remove the front transaxle mount through bolt
  7. Remove the insulator to the mount bracket.
  8. Remove the 2 front transaxle bracket bolts and bracket from the transaxle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the front transaxle bracket and bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle bracket bolts to 64 N·m (47 lb ft).

  3. Install the insulator to the mount bracket.
  4. Install the front transaxle mount through bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle mount through bolt to 52 N·m (38 lb ft).

  6. Install the 2 bolts to the front transaxle mount.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the front transaxle mount bolts to 39 N·m (29 lb ft).

  8. Install the left hand splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side in Body Front End.
  9. Install the right hand splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Right Side in Body Front End.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the engine support fixture.
