Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems

Verify that the turn signal lamps and/or indicators are always on or flashing.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

1. Remove the flasher.
2. Disconnect the turn signal/headlamp switch.
3. Test cavity 5 and 7 of the turn signal switch harness for continuity to ground.

Is a ground present?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair short to ground in the flasher relay signal circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

1. With flasher relay removed, install the turn signal/headlamp flasher switch.
2. Test cavity 5 and 7 of the turn signal/headlamp flasher switch for continuity to ground.

Is ground present?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace the turn signal/headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Replace the flasher relay.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
