Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 819499  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  2. Important: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.

  3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).

  4. Object Number: 819500  Size: SH
  5. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness (1).

  6. Object Number: 819502  Size: SH
  7. Remove the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 819502  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the steering knuckle. Secure with 1 bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the front wheel speed sensor bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Connect the wheel speed wiring harness (1) to the vehicle. Secure with 2 bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the pigtail harness nut (2) to 8 N·m (71 lb in) and pigtail harness nut (3) to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Install the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  7. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
