Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the electrical connector (6) from the wheel speed sensor.
- Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
- Remove the wheel speed sensor from the rear axle hub.
Important: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.
Installation Procedure
- Install the wheel speed sensor to rear wheel hub.
- Install the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
- Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (6).
- Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
