Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2007 🢒 Vibe - FWD 🢒 Brakes 🢒 Park Brake 🢒 Parking Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 853219 Size: SH
  2. Loosen the upper park brake cable nut (2).
  3. Loosen the lower park brake cable nut (3).
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  6. Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.
  7. Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
  8. Remove the 3 park brake cables (6,7,9) from the equalizer (8).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 853219 Size: SH
  1. Install the 3 park brake cables (6,7,9) to the equalizer (8).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).

  3. Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).

  4. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  5. Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  6. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement .
