Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2007 🢒 Vibe - FWD 🢒 Body Repair 🢒 Bolted Exterior Body Panels and Closures 🢒 Liftgate Wiring Harness Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement .

  5. Disconnect the license plate lamp electrical connectors.
  6. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
  7. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connectors.
  8. Disconnect the rear wiper relay connector.
  9. Disconnect the lower and upper harness connectors (1, 2).
  10. Release the wiring harness retainers from the liftgate.
  11. Remove the lower wiring harness from the liftgate.

  12. Disconnect upper harness boot (2) from liftgate (1)
  13. Remove upper harness from liftgate (1).

  14. Remove the left upper quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  15. Disconnect the upper liftgate harness connectors (1) from the rear body harness connectors (2)

    16. Object Number: 879696 Size: SH
  16. Disconnect the upper liftgate harness retainers (2) from the left inner quarter panel.

    17. Object Number: 879504 Size: SH
  17. Pull down on left rear of headliner to access harness for removal.
  18. Pull up on harness boot (2) and remove harness from rear upper body (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 879504 Size: SH
  1. Route the upper wiring harness and boot (2) to the rear upper body (3).
  2. Pull down on left rear of headliner to route upper liftgate harness.

  3. Install the upper liftgate harness (1) with retainers (2) to the left inner quarter panel.

    4. Object Number: 879692 Size: SH
  4. Connect the liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).
  5. Connect the upper liftgate harness connectors (1) to the rear body harness (2).
  6. Install the left upper quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 879504 Size: SH
  7. Route the upper liftgate harness through the upper liftgate (1) and install boot (2).

    8. Object Number: 879502 Size: SH
  8. Install the lower liftgate wire harness with retainers to the liftgate.
  9. Connect the lower liftgate harness electrical connectors to the upper liftgate harness (1, 2).
  10. Connect the rear wiper relay electrical connector.
  11. Connect the rear wiper motor electrical connectors.
  12. Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
  13. Connect the license plate lamp electrical connectors.
  14. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement .
  15. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  16. Close the liftgate.
  17. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
