Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement FWD
Removal Procedure
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any power steering fluid.
- Remove the bolt (2) from the power steering fluid cooler pipe (5).
- Remove the bolt (4) from the cooler pipe.
Important: A bracket retains the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear outlet hose.
- Loosen the clamp (3) that retains the power steering cooler pipe to the end of the power steering gear outlet hose.
Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.
- Remove the gear outlet hose from the cooler pipe.
- Loosen the clamp (6) that retains the cooler pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Remove the cooler pipe from the reservoir.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the power steering fluid cooler pipe (5) to the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Install the cooler pipe to the end of the steering gear outlet hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the 2 bolts (2, 4).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 7.8 N·m (69.04 lb in).
- Install the 2 hose clamps (3, 6).

- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to
