Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement All Wheel Drive
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear knuckle. Refer to
Knuckle Replacement.
- Remove the wheel bearing dust deflector (1).
- Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4).
- Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly from the knuckle.
Installation Procedure
- Ensure the brake shield is on the knuckle.
- Install the wheel bearing and hub assembly to the knuckle.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) to the knuckle and tighten to
56 N·m (41 lb ft).
- Align the hole (1) for the rear wheel speed sensor in a NEW dust deflector with the hole in the knuckle.
- Use a hydraulic press and press tools, or use a hammer and a piece of flat steel stock, in order to install a NEW dust deflector.
- Install the rear knuckle. Refer to
Knuckle Replacement.
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement GT
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector from the sensor.
Position the sensor harness to the side.
- Use mechanics wire in order to support the park brake assembly.
- Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and the rear wheel bearing and hub
assembly.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly with the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and tighten to
56 N·m (41 lb ft).
- Remove the mechanics wire.
- Connect the the rear wheel speed sensor connector.
- Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Except All Wheel Drive and GT
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector from the sensor.
Position the sensor harness to the side.
- Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly with the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4). Tighten the bolts to
100 N·m (74 lb ft).
- Connect the rear wheel speed sensor connector.
- Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
