Fuel Gage

The fuel level sender sends fuel level percent to the instrument panel cluster (IPC). The IPC displays the fuel level as determined by the fuel level sender. The IPC receives a message from the fuel level sender indicating the fuel level percent. The fuel gage defaults to E (empty) if the IPC detects a loss of communications with the IPC. When the fuel level is less than 4 percent, the Low Fuel Indicator illuminates.

Speedometer

On a vehicle without ABS, the instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the vehicle speed based on the information from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) indicating the vehicle speed. On an All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicle with ABS, The IPC calculates the vehicle speed based on the message indicating the wheel reference speed from both front wheel speed sensors. The wheel speed sensor signal is sent to the IPC through the electronic brake control module (EBCM).

Tachometer

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine speed as determined by the powertrain control module (PCM).
