Exhaust Rattle Due To Loose Flexpipe Bellows Cap - Remove Bellows Cap - keywords corroded coupling engine exhaust flange flex noise pipe rattle repeat rust rusted

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

On rare occasions, an exhaust rattle noise may be experienced due to a loose bellows cap at the front and/or rear of the exhaust flexpipe.

(1) Example of a loose bellows cap at the rear of the exhaust flexpipe.

If this concern is experienced, cut the loose bellows cap (s) off using a die grinder. Do not replace the front pipe for this concern. The main purpose of the bellows caps is to aid in the manufacturing process.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
