Condition
Some customers may comment on a boom noise at idle when the A/C is operating.
Cause
The resonance of the A/C discharge pipe by the compressor pumping pressure may cause this condition.
Correction
Install a rubber damping grommet, P/N 96887033, between the radiator and the discharge pipe using the following procedure.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Place the rubber grommet (3) as shown above between the radiator and the discharge pipe (1).
- Fit the rubber grommet over the pipe by turning in a clockwise direction as shown above.
- Position the grommet (1) to make the bottom of the grommet come in contact with the side of the radiator as shown above.
