J 36796 Clip Removal Tool

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat cushion from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat cushion bracket. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Bracket Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 753715  Size: SH
  4. Remove the seat latch bezels.

  5. Object Number: 753710  Size: SH
  6. Use the J 36796 to remove the push pins (1) on the underside of the seat bottom, in order to start the seat cushion removal procedure.

  7. Object Number: 753722  Size: SH
  8. Fold the carpet back in order to release the J-strips that retain the cover to the seat pan.
  9. Starting at either forward corner, compress the foam and partially remove the seat cover assembly from the seat pan.
  10. Important: When separating the seat cover retaining strips, do not pull the adhesive-backed strip from the seat pad.

  11. Remove the cover from the cushion by separating the retaining strips.
  12. Separate and remove the cushion and cover assembly from the seat pan.
  13. Release the reinforcement bar from the hog-rings.
  14. Remove the cover from the cushion.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cover to the cushion.
  2. Install the reinforcement bar to the hog-rings.
  3. Attach the retaining strips that retain the cover to the cushion.
  4. In order to install the seat cushion to the seat pan, perform the following:
  5. Install the seat pan to the cushion and cover assembly.
  6. Compress the foam and install the seat cover and cushion to the seat pan.

  7. Object Number: 753722  Size: SH
  8. Connect the J-strips that retain the cover to the seat pan.

  9. Object Number: 753710  Size: SH
  10. Install the push pins (1) on the underside of the seat bottom.

  11. Object Number: 753715  Size: SH
  12. Install the latch bezels.
  13. Install the seat cushion bracket. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Bracket Replacement .
  14. Install the seat cushion in the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
