The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer concern may be a high pitch whistle noise during low throttle openings.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the customer concern of low throttle opening whistle has been duplicated, compare the noise to another vehicle equipped with the LH6 engine.
If the whistle noise is verified and is comparable to another LH6 equipped vehicle, do not attempt repairs. The whistle noise may be caused by air rushing past the purge passage.
Engineering is investigating the low throttle whistle type noise, and this PI will be updated when new information becomes available.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
