Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

2

  1. With a scan tool, observe the SWC Switch Voltage parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) data list.
  2. Activate each of the left steering wheel control switches.

Does the scan tool indicate that the value of the SWC Switch Voltage parameter changes when each switch is activated?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

3

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF.
  3. Disconnect the left steering wheel controls.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. With a scan tool observe the SWC Switch Voltage parameter.
  6. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the supply voltage circuit of the left steering wheel controls and the signal circuit of the remote blower motor switch.

Does the scan tool indicate that the value of the SWC Switch Voltage parameter changes?
