The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment of a wind noise from the driver's side A-pillar area. This noise is typically caused by a void were the A-pillar and bulk head meet on the left side of the vehicle.
Recommendation/Instructions:
- Remove both A-Pillar inside trim Windshield Pillar Garnish Moldings. Refer to SI document 735514 as needed for service procedure.
- Remove the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad. Refer to SI document 740783 as needed for service procedure.
- Seal void called out in the photo below as "1". Use RTV Silicone Rubber Sealant part number 12345739 or equivalent to fill this void. DO NOT fill the entire cavity downward. Only apply a thick enough bead of RTV sealer to cover the void opening along
its entire length that is visible.
- Allow to dry and re-evaluate customers concern.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
