| Attention: | THIS IS NOT A RECALL. This bulletin ONLY applies to vehicles in which the customer has commented about this concern AND the EI number shows in GMVIS (Except Saab). All others should disregard this bulletin and proceed with diagnostics found in published service information. |
This bulletin is being revised to include 2005 model year vehicles and update the information requested by Engineering. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-52-003 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the left front door cannot be locked or unlocked with the key.
Correction
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause for the left hand front door not locking or unlocking with the key. GM has a need to obtain information first hand from the dealer during diagnosis and BEFORE repair. As a result, this information will be used by engineering to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.
Note the following information on the repair order:
- Cycle the left front door lock with key fob. Does the key fob lock/unlock the left front door?
- Cycle the left front door lock with the door unlock switch on the Door Trim Panel. Does the left front door lock/unlock when using the switch?
- Cycle the left front door lock with the key. Does the key lock/unlock the left front door?
- Contact Engineer Kevin Veik @ 248-685-4879 before repairing the vehicle.
