Any communications device that becomes unusable or unable to function as intended due to unavailability of compatible wireless service from the wireless communication carrier that provides service for the OnStar® system.Damage to the tire such as punctures, cuts, snags, and breaks resulting from pothole impact, curb impact, or from other objects is not covered. Also, damage from improper inflation, high speed spinning, as when stuck in mud or snow, tire chains, racing, improper mounting or demounting, misuse, negligence, alteration, or misapplication is not covered.
Owners of vehicles with a bedliner, whether after-market or factory installed, should expect that with normal operation the bedliner will move. This movement may cause finish damage and/or squeaks and rattles. Therefore, any damage caused by the normal wear of a bedliner is not covered under the terms of the warranty.
Damage caused as the result of any of the following is not covered:
• | Collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, explosion, or objects striking the vehicle |

• | Coverages do not apply if the odometer has been disconnected, its reading has been altered, or mileage cannot be determined. |
Damage caused by airborne fallout, salt from sea air, salt or other materials used to control road conditions, chemicals, tree sap, stones, hail, earthquake, water or flood, windstorm, lightning, the application of chemicals or sealants subsequent to manufacture, is not covered. See "Chemical Paint Spotting" under Things You Should Know About the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for more details.
Poor fuel quality or incorrect fuel may cause driveability problems such as hesitation, lack of power, stall, or no start. It may also render gauges inoperable or degrade functionality for components such as spark plugs, oxygen sensors, and the catalytic converter. Damage from poor fuel quality, water contamination, incorrect diesel fuel or gasoline may not be covered.
It is recommended that gasoline meet specifications which were developed by automobile manufacturers around the world and contained in the World-Wide Fuel Charter which is available from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers at www.autoalliance.org/fuel_charter.htm. Gasoline meeting these specifications could provide improved driveability and emission control system performance compared to other gasoline.
Damage caused by failure to follow the recommended Maintenance Schedule intervals and/or failure to use or maintain fluids, fuel, lubricants, or refrigerants recommended in the Owner Manual is not covered.
All vehicles require periodic maintenance. Maintenance services, such as those detailed in the Owner Manual or Maintenance publications are at the owner's expense. The following items are not covered under the new vehicle bumper-to-bumper limited warranty:
• | Tires fitted as original equipment are warranted by their manufacturer. Saab currently uses various suppliers for U.S. specification vehicles. Separate tire warranties are provided in your owner document organizer. |
• | Failures due to misuse, improper adjustment or repair, modifications, accident or competition. |
• | The use of any part, material or accessory including the improper installation of those parts/materials/accessories and any subsequent damage to the other parts or system. |
• | The use of other than genuine Saab parts or parts not sold by Saab Cars USA, Inc. |
• | The use of any fuel or oil or other fluids which do not meet Saab's standards as outlined in your owner manual. |
• | Vehicles severely damaged or declared a total loss by an insurer. |
• | Any vehicle having or having had a branded or salvaged title. |
• | Vehicles reassembled or repaired using parts from another vehicle previously in operation. |

• | The Saab new vehicle warranty excludes any communication device that becomes unusable or unable to function as intended due to changes in technology or wireless service. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Ruling 02-229 eliminates the requirement that wireless carriers support the analog network after February 16, 2008. As a result of this ruling, if carriers of OnStar® elect to provide only digital service commencing on February 16, 2008, the OnStar® system in Saab vehicles may not operate. |
This warranty does not cover any damage or failure resulting from modification or alteration to the vehicle's original equipment as manufactured or assembled by Saab. Examples of the types of alterations that would not be covered include cutting, welding, or disconnecting of the vehicle's original equipment parts and components.
Additionally, Saab does not warranty non-Saab parts and/or calibrations. The use of parts and/or control module calibrations not issued through Saab will void the warranty coverage for those components that are damaged or otherwise affected by the installation of the non-Saab part and/or control module calibration.
The only exception is that non-Saab parts labeled "Certified to EPA Standards" are covered by the Federal Emissions Performance Warranty.
All vehicles require periodic maintenance. Maintenance services, such as those detailed in the owner manual, are at the owner's expense. Damage caused by failure to follow the recommended maintenance schedule intervals and/or failure to use or maintain fluids, fuel, lubricants, or refrigerants recommended in the owner manual is not covered.
This warranty, the safety belt and perforation warranties and the emission control system warranties are the only express warranties made by us with respect to your Saab. Any other warranties which may be implied by law, including, but not limited to, any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the same period and mileage limits shown above.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, and/or the exclusion or limitations of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Note: This warranty is void on vehicles currently or previously titled as salvaged, scrapped, junked, or totaled.
Parts used in warranty repairs must be genuine Saab parts. The Saab Parts & Accessories Limited Warranty applies to these parts, and the coverage on parts replaced free-of-charge is for the remainder of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty of the term of the-then current and applicable Parts & Accessories Limited Warranty, whichever is longer.
It is your responsibility to keep a record of all warranty work and service performed on your Saab, as it may be necessary to substantiate when a defect was noted, required maintenance was performed, etc. These records should be transferred to each subsequent owner.
