Body Control Module Scan Tool Output Controls

Output Control

Description

Back Up Lamps

The BCM activates the backup lamp output when you select ON. The backup lamps illuminate until commanded OFF.

Daytime Running Lamps

The BCM reduces the 100 percent pulse width modulated (PWM) headlamp driver module (HDM) control signal to a 85 percent duty cycle when there is sufficient light to the ambient light sensor and you select ON. The daytime running lights will remain illuminated until commanded OFF.

Dimming

The BCM adjusts the dimming output level when you select the percentage of illumination desired. The dimmable IP lamps will illuminate to the level set by the scan tool when the IP dimmer switch is in the FULL DIM position.

Headlamp Washer Relay

The body control module (BCM) will actuate the headlamp washer relay after you select ON. The headlamp washers should spray the headlamps.

Horn

The body control module (BCM) activates the horn momentarily when you select On.

Inadvertent Power

The BCM disables the inadvertent power supply circuit when you select OFF. The inadvertent power supply circuit remains disabled for 5 seconds.

Left Rear Window

The BCM will control the left window up when you select Up. The BCM will control the left window down when you select Down.

Parking Lamps

The BCM activates the park lamp relay when you select ON. The park lamps illuminate until commanded OFF.

Power Down Now

This output control forces the BCM to shutdown.
