Subject: | EI07213 -- No Cold Air from Vents, A/C Inoperative, Blows Warm Air (Reset HVAC Control Module) |
Models: | 2005-2007 Buick Rainier |
2005-2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer |
2005-2008 GMC Envoy |
2005-2008 Saab 9-7X |
with Automatic Temperature Control HVAC System (RPO CJ2) |
This bulletin is being revised to include additional model years, the Saab 9-7X model and to end the need for information from the technicians and provide short-term corrective action. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-01-39-007 (Section 01 - HVAC).
Some customers may comment that the air from the vents is warm or the A/C is inoperative.
Based on technician feedback, engineering believes this concern may be caused by software and data communications between the control head and the class 2 data link.
DO NOT REPLACE THE HVAC CONTROL HEAD MODULE.
Removing and re-installing the fuse for the HVAC Control Module (found in the Rear Fuse Block located under the driver's side rear seat) will reset the control head and allow it to resume normal operation.
Engineering will continue to develop and validate a software update to address this condition.
