Battery Current Sensor Polarity Error B151B DTC - keywords cable code control generator high indicator lamp light low module volt voltage

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some Technicians may comment that when scanning for DTCs via Tech 2, DTC B151B is found in the "Generator Battery Control Module". This DTC will have a Tech 2 DTC definition of "Battery Current Sensor Polarity Error". The DTC cannot be found in SI. This DTC will not turn on any indicators and will store as a history code only. Engineering is trying to understand the reason for this DTC setting and is requesting additional information about the vehicle if this DTC is found. The DTC was never enabled within the "Generator Battery Control Module".

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
