Subject: | Personalization Change For Memory Recall and Curb View Mirrors |
Models: | 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer models |
This PI was superseded to update Condition/Concern and administrative details. Please discard PIT4492.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment of the following issues listed below.
- Outside rear view mirrors do no recall with RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) or from the memory buttons 1 and 2 on the driver's door as indicated in the owner's manual. This is due to an intentional design change for the 2008 model year for the vehicles
listed above and some owner's manuals may incorrectly advise that this feature is available. There is no mirror recall using the RKE FOB or memory buttons 1 and 2 on the driver's door.
- Curb View feature inoperative. The service information and owners manual may incorrectly advise that this feature is available. This feature was also eliminated for the 2008 model year vehicles listed above. This feature allowed the passenger's outside
rear view mirror to pivot downward to a predetermined position when the vehicle was placed into Reverse. The DIC will not display an option to turn this feature on/off.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Normal operation. No repairs are recommended for this concern.
- Memory Recall feature for RKE/Driver1/Driver2 only recalls the drivers seat and adjustable pedals.
- Curb View feature is not available for 2008.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
