Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) can make it easier for others to see the front of your vehicle during the day. Fully functional daytime running lamps are required on all vehicles first sold in Canada.

The DRL will activate when the following conditions are met:

    • The ignition is on.
    • The exterior lamps knob is in automatic headlamp mode.
    • The light sensor detects daytime light.
    • The transmission is not in P (Park).

When DRL are on, either the turn signal lamps or headlamps will be on. If the vehicle has the High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting system option, the DRL system will turn on the turn signal lamps. If the vehicle does not have HID, the DRL system will turn on the headlamps at reduced brightness. The taillamps, sidemarker, and the instrument panel lights will not be on.

When it begins to get dark, the headlamps will automatically switch from DRL to the regular headlamps.
