Removal Procedure
  1. Loosen the hood close out filler panel. Refer to Front Bumper Upper Fascia Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 749964 Size: SH
  2. Using a grease pencil or other suitable marking device, mark the location of the latch on the mounting bracket.
  3. Remove the bolts that retain the latch to the mounting bracket.

    4. Object Number: 742161 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the hood latch cable from the latch.
  5. Remove the latch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 742161 Size: SH
  1. Connect the hood latch cable to the latch.

    2. Object Number: 749964 Size: SH
  2. Position the latch to the previously marked location on the mounting bracket.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolts which retain the latch to the mounting bracket and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  4. Inspect the latch for proper operation before closing the hood.
  5. Check the alignment of the latch to the hood striker. Adjust the latch, if necessary. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment.
  6. Install the hood close out filler panel. Refer to Front Bumper Upper Fascia Replacement.
