Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the bolts from the hood latch release cable handle and disconnect the cable.
  2. Remove the left side instrument panel closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  4. Remove the hood latch and disconnect the cable. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .

Hood Latch Release Cable

Preliminary Procedures

    • Use a piece of mechanics wire to help guide the new cable through the proper routing.
    • A small amount of silicone spray will help ease the dash panel grommet into place properly.
