White Powder Chalk Residue On Door Lock Knob - keywords assembly bezel color locks off panel power stain substance

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that there is a white powder chalk looking residue on the door lock knob after multiple uses. This residue is likely coming from the lock knob rubbing against the lock knob bezel on the inner door panel assembly.

At this time the repair is to wipe off the residue. The residue may come back after continued use of the door lock knob. If the residue comes back it can be removed by wiping off the surface.

Note: This PI will be updated when further repair procedures are available.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
