The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A customer may comment that the rear view mirror internal compass is inoperative. It is very important to know that there was some Saturn Auras built with the compass mirror and the vehicle did NOT have the compass uplevel option.
Recommendation/Instructions:
In order for a compass mirror to work properly you must have a DD7 mirror that comes with RPO package PCR.
Note: The (PCR) Convenience Package includes (UG1) Universal Home Remote, (AP3) remote vehicle starter system, (DD7) inside rearview auto-dimming mirror with compass display and (KA1) heated driver and front passenger seats.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
