The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Cluster gauges make a ticking noise during start up of vehicle (gauge sweep). The noise may also be heard from the tachometer during certain driving conditions (revving engine), however, most complaints will only be ticking noise heard at engine start up. The ticking noise is caused by the internal components of the cluster gauge motors.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Replace the Instrument cluster assembly to repair this concern.

Note: The gauges WOW feature (during initial key on) has been eliminated on the new instrument cluster.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
