The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The Saturn Aura center console armrest assembly has two storage compartments. There is a shallow one on top and a deeper one below. To access these compartments there are two levers on the front edge of the armrest. Pulling up on the lever on the passenger side opens to the top bin and pulling up on the lever on the driver side opens to the bottom bin.

Some customers may complain when they pull up on the passenger side lever it opens to the bottom cavity instead of just the top bin.

There is a piece of felt material on the driver side lever. This material was placed there to reduce the noise the two pieces of plastic may make when one of the levers is opened and then closed. However, the felt material is causing the driver side lever to be partially raised when in the closed position. When the passenger side lever is pulled up the driver side lever is also raised, however due to the felt the driver side lever hook releases prior to the passenger side lever hook which causes the bottom cavity to be exposed instead of the top cavity.

Remove the piece of felt (as shown in the picture) by peeling it off the driver side lever.
