Subject: | Door Glass Shudder/Slow Up Speed |
Models: | 2007 Saturn Aura |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A customer might comment that they notice the front door glass is shuddering when going up or down. They may also notice the speed of the door glass is slower then the other front door glass operational speed. This condition can be caused by a door glass assembly that is NOT fully seated into the window regulator.
To repair this concern, remove the door panel and lower the window far enough to access to the glass to regulator mounting bolts. After loosening the attachment bolts, lift up on the glass and reseat it into the regulator assembly. Prior to tightening bolts, electrically run the window to the closed position (until the window seats into the window run channel). Then; while putting downward pressure on the glass, lower the window electrically far enough to access the regulator mounting bolts.
Continue to push downward on the glass while tightening the mounting bolts to make sure the rear attachment point (most important) stays fully seated into the regulator.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
